As if this developing story couldn't get any weirder, Verne Troyer is now suing Ranae Shrider for allegedly beating the hell out of him.

In a lawsuit which will be filed in Federal court soon, Troyer is accusing Shrider of intentional infliction of emotional distress and battery.

Verne's lawyer, Ed McPherson, tells celebrity news site TMZ, "When you pick up a 2'8" human being and throw him to the floor, it hurts."

Well, it's hard to argue with that.

Others are being sued here as well, including some lawyer who allegedly tried to broker a deal for the sale of the Verne Troyer sex tape.

In the lawsuit, Verne Troyer basically says Ranae Shrider terrorized him.

Once, she even picked the lock to his bedroom door, pushing away a 100 pound scooter that was used to block it, and threw him on the floor. Ouch.

The price of the damages Ranae Shrider did to him? A paltry $20 million. We'll see if Verne's lawsuit holds up or if he takes another (legal) beating ...

Lindsay Lohan's not in the clear yet after allegedly bumping a hookah lounge manager with her Porsche this week -- because TMZ has learned, the LAPD wants to chat with her about the incident.

Law enforcement sources tell us, they want to talk to Lindsay to get her side of the story -- and decide once and for all if a criminal investigation is worth pursuing.

There are conflicting stories all over the place -- multiple eyewitnesses claim Lindsay bumped the manager of a nearby hookah lounge on her way out of The Sayers Club in Hollywood early Wednesday morning. Another eyewitness insists ... no contact occurred whatsoever.

So now, police want to go right to the source -- and speak directly with Lindsay to make sense of it all.

0227_brooke_mueller_tmz_EX Brooke Mueller will NOT go to jail for cocaine possession and possession with intent to distribute, because her lawyer and the prosecutor are "deep" in plea bargain negotiations and the issue of confinement is not on the table.

Sources connected with the case tell TMZ ... Brooke's lawyer, Yale Galanter, and Pitkin County, Colorado prosecutor Arnie Mordkin have been meeting, and we're told they're talking about a deferred prosecution ... meaning Brooke will probably have to take some drug ed classes and perform community service and then the charges will be formally dismissed.

Brooke was arrested December 2 and charged with felony possession of cocaine, felony possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, as well as misdemeanor assault.

Brooke's next scheduled court date was set for March 5, but we're told it's been moved to April 2. During that hearing, Brooke will be present and -- unless negotiations fall apart -- she will enter her plea and the judge will impose his sentence.
